Congratulations to Eastbourne School
Instructor KSN Ben Zarif, who has
just arrived back from the Kuk Sool World Championships held in
Houston, Texas, with a lot to celebrate! Competing in the 2nd
Degree Black Belt championship and pitting his skills against
approx 25 other competitors from all over the world, he was placed
in the top four, in all five of his competitions, winning five
medals in all. However, his crowning glory was the coveted gold
medal for swordsmanship, making him the world champion in that
category. Well Done!

Kyo Sa Nim BEN Zarif
Master Philip D Holmes, who accompanied Ben on the trip to the
USA, said that it was a tremendous achievement for Ben to win a
gold medal at such a high level of competition, and shows that the
years of commitment he has shown in perfecting his martial art
skills has earnt him a golden reward.
At
the same event, Kuk Sa Nim Honoured Master Philip D Holmes with
promotion to 7th Degree Black Belt.

Many thanks and appreciation goes to Dan Bo Nim Richard Stewart,
from the Kuk Sool Won of Cambridge School for all his efforts in
creating the new website. He is now an honorary member of the Eastbourne
school. This means that when he visits the school, he will probably
get double the amount of press-ups more than regular members to
make him even stronger - we really do show our appreciation to people
who help the school!
